Experienced and passionate
Matthew is a London-based composer working predominantly in film and television composing for independent and feature films, television, video games, theatre, advertising, web content and corporate videos.
He has been involved in music since he began learning piano at the age of eight while also singing in multiple choirs.
Matthew furthered his musical education at university in South Africa earning a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano Performance, Jazz Piano Performance and Composition. Following this, he relocated to London where his focus began to move towards film and television composition.
Deciding to pursue this passion professionally, he furthered his education at the London College of Music, where he completed a Master’s in Composition for Film and Television, graduating with distinction.
As an orchestrator and arranger, he thrives on collaborating with artists and composers alike to help shape scores produced through virtual mock-ups as well as digital scores. This includes sheet music part preparation ready for concert performances and studio recordings.
Matthew continuously pushes musical boundaries while striving for originality and authenticity. This allows him to compose in many musical styles and genres giving him versatility to compose bespoke music to fit any project.
It really is all about the narrative and what the music can do to uplift and complement the visual. This is achieved through precise skill and passion for scores and is driven by collaborating with creatives from all walks within the industry in produce the best final product.
